About SG Kornburg
Schützengruppe Kornburg e.V. is a shooting club based in Kornburg, a southern suburb of Nuremberg, between Schwabach and Wendelstein. As a member of the Schwabach-Roth-Hilpoltstein shooting district, the club hosts sporting activities, competitions, and community events. Its four modern shooting facilities support air rifle and air pistol, small-bore rifle, archery, and blowgun shooting. The club also offers knowledgeable trainers and equipment to help newcomers get started, alongside training for young members and archers.
Sport and local tradition are both central to the organization. Each year, residents can take part in the traditional citizens’ shooting competition, while members continue customs such as ceremonial shooting and the shooting of a wooden eagle to select a king. The club’s traditions connect it with the Kornburg Warriors’ and Veterans’ Association, from which it originated, and with Germany’s recognized intangible cultural heritage of shooting associations. Visitors can find regular opening hours, upcoming events, club news, and contact information through the association’s website.
