About Sgaus
The State Guard Association of the United States (SGAUS) supports State Defense Forces across the country and works to strengthen the community connected to these organizations. Its website highlights 23 State Defense Force units and 10 unique missions, noting that State Defense Force personnel make up less than 1% of uniformed U.S. military service members and contributed more than 10% of the domestic military response during the COVID-19 pandemic.
SGAUS offers membership with benefits that include member discounts, access to exclusive content, and specialized training resources. The association also provides corporate membership opportunities, with several levels designed to offer visibility and access, and invites supporters to make donations. Its programs and resources include the SGAUS Academy, awards, and a briefing room. SGAUS brings members and supporters together through its annual convention and training event; the 2026 gathering is planned for October in Baltimore, Maryland, with further details to be announced. Through membership, training, events, and sponsorship opportunities, SGAUS aims to enrich and support the State Defense Force community.
