SGO Overbetuwe

Stichting Gehandicaptenplatform Overbetuwe (SGO) is a foundation supporting people with disabilities in the municipality of Overbetuwe, the Netherlands. Its aim is to help everyone participate in community life. The organisation informs, advises and supports residents, drawing on a board and more than 60 active volunteers.

SGO’s website brings together practical information on participation, transport, education, housing, work and daytime activities, sport, leisure, culture and finances. It also covers care and support, including WMO, WLZ, health insurance, personal budgets, local care, informal caregiving and assistive devices. Accessibility resources address local villages, buildings, homes and wheelchair-accessible toilets.

Alongside information, SGO shares news and personal perspectives through its newsletter, annual report, columns and interviews. Its activities include a schools project, public meetings and markets, and events promoting sport and exercise. SGO also supports people affected by acquired brain injury through NAH cafés in Elst, Heteren and Herveld/Andelst, with related information and event listings. Through these services and resources, the foundation works to make Overbetuwe more inclusive and accessible.
