Shadowfinder Studios

Shadowfinder Studios is an independent game development team creating The Ancient Rift Chronicles, an open-world medieval fantasy adventure. Set in an ancient land of wonder, the game is designed around exploration, expansive lore, and deep storytelling, inviting players to shape their path as a thief, bandit, merchant, wizard, or knight. Players can fight enemies for wealth or power and encounter a range of characters and fantasy races.

The project features character creation and supports both first- and third-person perspectives, with a single-player experience and cooperative play described as a possibility. Development updates highlight quests, dialogue, voice-over and lip-sync, readable books, and reactive melee combat, alongside work on detailed characters, graphics, and immersive environments. Shadowfinder Studios is also developing more natural, conversational non-player characters, including systems that allow characters to interact with one another.

The game is being built with Unreal Engine 5, and its creators share progress, ideas, and behind-the-scenes material through announcements and subscriber content
