Shadrack Farms Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization providing a rehabilitation home for elderly and other large farm animals in need of comfort, safety, and specialized care. Founded and led by Sonya Sokolow, PhD, the sanctuary draws on her more than 50 years of experience breeding, raising, and training Morgan horses and Miniature Zebu cattle; she also works with alpacas and goats. Its mission is to create a loving, comfortable home for animals that need extra care, including those who are no longer comfortable in their previous homes.
Shadrack Farms selectively accepts animals from their owners and assumes ownership once an animal is admitted, making a lasting commitment to its well-being. Care includes providing food, shelter, comfort, and medical attention. Supporters can help without having an animal at the sanctuary by donating toward care and equipment, volunteering, or considering a legacy gift.
The organization also shares updates and stories about its work through its website and YouTube channel, helping supporters follow the animals’ journeys and learn how to get involved
