Shakkiliitto

The Finnish Chess Federation (Suomen Shakkiliitto ry) is the national organisation for chess in Finland. Based in Helsinki, it supports chess participation and competition through its network of member clubs, committees and officials. The federation shares news about players, events and organisational matters, and provides information for members, clubs and anyone interested in the game.

Its website brings together competition calendars, results, tournament reports and guidance on national championships, team events and international competitions. Players can find information about federation licences, membership and tournament fees, as well as national and international rating services. The federation also publishes chess rules, competition regulations, ethical guidelines and other policies governing organised play.

Beyond competitions, the federation offers resources for chess organisers and officials, including information about training courses and qualification-related matters. Its materials and news cover youth chess, Finnish championship events, international results and chess activities at the Shakkiareena. Through these services, the Finnish Chess Federation helps coordinate the chess community and makes practical information about playing, organising and following chess in Finland accessible to the public.
