Shallow Water Angling

Shallow Water Angling is a guided fishing service based in Oak Hill, Florida, specializing in fly fishing and sight fishing in Mosquito Lagoon and nearby waters. Led by Captain Owen Armstrong, the business draws on his lifelong experience fishing Florida’s ponds, Mosquito Lagoon, the Indian River, and the Banana River. Captain Owen offers guided outings for anglers seeking species such as redfish, sea trout, snook, tarpon, and black drum, while sharing his knowledge of the lagoon’s changing conditions and productive fishing areas.

Trips are available as half-day, three-quarter-day, and full-day charters, lasting four, six, and eight hours respectively. Guests fish aboard a 2021 Hells Bay Professional skiff powered by a Yamaha F70, designed to navigate water as shallow as six inches and comfortably accommodate two anglers. The guide provides G. Loomis rods and high-end reels from Tibor, Hatch, and Nautilus, though guests may bring their own equipment.
