Shalva

Shalva is an influential organization founded in 1990 in Jerusalem, born from the personal journey of the Samuels family after the birth of their son, Yossi, who faced severe disabilities due to a vaccination error. Recognizing the need for community support for families with special needs children, Shalva has transformed from a small volunteer initiative into a leading advocate for social inclusion and support services for individuals with disabilities and their families.

The organization offers a comprehensive range of innovative programs, including therapeutic and recreational activities, life skills training, and integration into employment for individuals with disabilities. Notable services include early childhood care, special education, and a social café. Shalva’s National Center, established in 2016, spans 20,000 square meters and features sports facilities, therapy pools, and integrated preschools.
