Shamrock Marathon

Shamrock Marathon is a brand renowned for hosting the exciting and vibrant Shamrock Marathon Weekend. With a rich history dating back to 1973, this event has continuously evolved and improved year after year. Founded by Jerry Bocrie and his wife Lori, the inaugural marathon saw 59 entrants and 38 finishers, along with a range of other races.

World-class athletes, including Bill Rodgers, Jeff Galloway, and Grete Waitz, have all participated in the Shamrock events, with Grete even setting a world record in the 8k race in 1986. Throughout the 1990s, the Shamrock Sportsfest gained significant recognition, with Runner's World ranking it as the race to run on St. Patrick's Day weekend.

Since 2003, race directors Jerry and Amy Frostick have elevated the event to new heights, attracting over 24,000 participants annually. Their dedication has resulted in three world records, 32 national records, and qualification for the U. S.
