Shand Tennis

Shand Tennis Coaching Ltd is a Hawke’s Bay tennis coaching provider led by founder and head coach Andrew Shand. The organisation aims to make tennis welcoming and rewarding for players of all ages and abilities, with programmes designed to build skills, confidence, fitness, and sportsmanship. Shand’s coaching approach combines expert instruction with encouragement and a supportive learning environment.

Services include personalised private lessons for beginners through advanced players, group Cardio Tennis sessions, and coaching in schools. Junior offerings include after-school Hot Shots programmes, Saturday junior programmes, and holiday sessions featuring coaching and friendly competition. The programmes help young players develop their tennis abilities alongside teamwork and sportsmanship.

Shand Tennis also provides racquet restringing for tennis and squash, with attention to string quality and tension, and offers a pro shop. Andrew Shand brings competitive playing experience, a sports management and accounting background, and a Tennis New Zealand JDC/ITF Level One qualification. The coaching service supports individual development while working to strengthen school and club tennis programmes across Hawke’s Bay.
