Shanon Patel

Professor Shanon Patel is a London-based specialist and consultant endodontist with more than 25 years of clinical and academic experience. Alongside his specialist practice in central London, he is Professor of Endodontology at King’s College London Dental Institute and a Consultant Endodontist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. His work focuses on diagnosing and treating complex dental problems while preserving natural teeth.

Services include root canal treatment and retreatment, care for internal and external root resorption, diagnosis and treatment of cracked teeth and vertical root fractures, dental trauma management, and periapical microsurgery. The practice also provides in-house cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and 3D imaging to support diagnosis and treatment planning. Professor Patel’s approach is tailored to each case, with an emphasis on careful explanations and patient comfort.

His clinical work is supported by research and teaching. He has published more than 120 peer-reviewed papers, co-edited six endodontic textbooks, and contributed to professional guidance on CBCT, root resorption, and cracked teeth.
