Young Mountain

Shape Academy is the training and career program of young mountain, designed for people who want to turn their enthusiasm for outdoor sports into a profession. Working across Austria, Germany, France, Switzerland and Italy, the program supports teams involved in building and maintaining snow and mountain facilities, with a focus on quality, safety and enjoyable experiences. Its projects include snowparks, funslopes, funcross courses, family attractions and bikeparks.

Participants can begin as shapers, helping care for facilities throughout the season, and develop through structured training and practical experience. Career paths include multimedia shaping, team leadership, project management, park design and snow-grooming equipment operation, with opportunities to progress into regional and technical leadership. Roles combine hands-on work in mountain settings with responsibilities such as coordinating crews, managing projects and developing facilities. Shape Academy offers seasonal work, generally spanning December to April, while some part-time availability may be considered. With more than 250 employees and trainers and over 20 years of experience, the program presents outdoor work as a route to continued professional growth across its European operations.
