The Swiss Health Alliance for Interprofessional Education (SHAPED) is a student-based association dedicated to enhancing interprofessional education (IPE) and collaboration within the Swiss healthcare sector. Frustrated with the limited opportunities for IPE and the rigid separation of healthcare curricula, SHAPED was established in the fall semester of 2020. Originally consisting of just three individuals, SHAPED has grown to include approximately 20 motivated students from six different professional backgrounds and ten institutions across Switzerland.

At SHAPED, our vision is to empower the next generation of healthcare professionals to advocate for improved patient care by promoting interprofessional work in the healthcare sector. We provide an interactive platform where students and young professionals can challenge biases, break down prejudices, and recognize the equal competence of healthcare professionals across different disciplines. As part of our commitment to collaboration, SHAPED is affiliated with the Swiss Youth Health Alliance (SYHA) and maintains connections with other students' associations involved in healthcare.
