Shard Tabletop is a leading brand that offers a virtual tabletop and character sheet exclusively designed for the 5th Edition of the popular roleplaying game, Dungeons & Dragons. Our primary focus is on providing a user-friendly platform with seamless multi-device support, along with powerful homebrew tools and a wide range of high-quality pre-packaged content. The brand's journey began back in 1982 when founders Darren Shakib and Hal Howard, who shared a passion for software design and Dungeons & Dragons, met in high school.

Despite pursuing successful careers in software development and design, their love for the game remained constant. Ultimately, they decided to create tools for tabletop gamers, prioritizing accessibility and bridging the gap between video games and the traditional tabletop experience. What started as a personal project soon gained popularity among friends and expanded into a full-fledged virtual tabletop and character sheet dedicated to the 5th edition rules.

Thanks to the valuable feedback of thousands of users, the software has continuously evolved with weekly additions of new features and improvements. In January 2021, Shard successfully launched a Kickstarter campaign, surpassing its funding goal with the support of 730 backers. Currently, Shard Tabletop collaborates with renowned content creators and consistently introduces exciting new features to enhance the gaming experience.

We are proud to have made the dream of creating user-friendly tools for tabletop gamers a reality after almost 40 years. Join the Shard community and embark on your next epic adventure
