About Shark Allies
Shark Allies is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and conservation of sharks and rays. Their mission is to take action and raise awareness to reduce the destructive overfishing of sharks globally. With a focus on advocacy, Shark Allies aims to be the strong lobby that stands up for sharks day in and day out.
They recognize that urgent action is needed to save threatened shark species, as millions of sharks are killed each year with little attention given to their plight. While other ocean conservation organizations may focus on various issues, Shark Allies exclusively represents sharks and rays, working to ensure their survival and the health of our oceans. Through their policy work, Shark Allies has achieved significant victories, such as the creation of the first shark fin trade ban in Hawaii in 2010, which has since been a model for other states.
They also engage in education and raising awareness through presentations, documentaries, and media outreach. By joining Shark Allies, individuals can contribute to the movement and make a difference in shark conservation
