Sharon Hernly Artist

Sharon Hernly Fine Art presents original oil paintings inspired by the landscapes, history, and people of the American Southwest. Artist Sharon Hernly creates studio and plein air works that bring the region’s past into the present through historically grounded, story-driven imagery. Her subjects include desert scenery, historic missions, mining towns, wildlife, and the everyday lives of people who shaped the American West.

Hernly’s personal connection to mining communities and historic Western sites informs her work. She combines on-site visits, historical research, and direct observation to create paintings rooted in a strong sense of place. Thoughtful composition, value structure, and color help convey the character and atmosphere of each scene, while recurring themes of resilience, independence, and heritage reflect the enduring spirit of Western life.
