Founded by Monie, who draws on 30 years of experience as a dental hygienist, the company aims to make instrument care convenient, affordable, and less disruptive to busy practices.

Its services include mobile, in-office sharpening for dental hygiene instruments, explorers, surgical instruments, and scissors. During a visit, instruments are sterilized, sharpened, repackaged, and sterilized again for immediate use, so clinicians can keep working without sending their tools away. Sharpen Live also offers mail-in sharpening, instrument retipping using new tips on existing handles, and new dental hygiene instruments. In-office dental instrument sharpening is priced per instrument, with discounted rates available through its free membership program for qualifying repeat visits.
