About SHBELC
Surrey Hills Baptist Early Learning Centre (SHBELC) is a not-for-profit early learning and care provider serving families in Surrey Hills, Victoria, and the surrounding community. With more than 90 years of community history, the centre offers a nurturing, inclusive environment where children are supported as individuals and encouraged to learn through play. SHBELC says it exceeds the National Quality Standard across all seven areas and is among the top 24% of education services.
Its programs cater to babies aged 0–2, toddlers aged 2–3, and kindergarten children aged 3–5, including three- and four-year-old kindergarten. Experienced educators provide child-focused learning, a specialist art program, extra activities, and support for children with diverse abilities. The centre also works with families, health professionals, and inclusion specialists to help children participate and thrive.
Daily fees include three meals, sunscreen, long-day-care hours, learning activities, and program extras. SHBELC also offers family resources and a weekly Wednesday playgroup. The centre is open Monday to Friday, 7:15 am to 6:15 pm, at 277–281 Elgar Road.
