S. H. E.

UK is a registered charity based in Nottinghamshire that provides a holistic range of support services for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, exploitation, and sexual violence. Our mission is to improve the lives of victims of this trauma, and our vision is to create a world where childhood sexual abuse is exposed, addressed, and not associated with shame. We offer various services to empower survivors and help them rebuild their lives.

Our telephone support service provides immediate assistance, offering coping strategies and signposting to other support services. We also provide up to two years of weekly therapy, delivered by qualified and trainee therapists. Long-term therapy is a cornerstone of our approach, recognizing its effectiveness for survivors.

Additionally, we host the SHE-roes Lounge, a female peer support group that offers a safe space for survivors to connect, access educational courses, and combat feelings of isolation. As a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy, we adhere to their ethical framework. Our services have expanded over the years to support individuals of all genders and non-abusing family members.
