About Sheffield Hackspace
Sheffield Hackspace is an independent, community-focused makerspace in the south of Sheffield, operating as the trading name of Sheffield Hardware Hackers and Makers CIC. It brings together people with a wide range of interests and experience to share ideas, learn practical skills and make things using tools and equipment. Activities span electronics, woodworking, textiles, machining, coding, crafts and other hands-on projects.
Facilities include an electronics workbench, 3D printers, a large-format 60-watt CO2 laser cutter, woodworking tools and machines, metalworking equipment and a CNC mill. The craft room offers sewing, overlocking and embroidery machines, along with leatherworking tools and materials. The space also hosts open sessions several times a week, including a craft night, giving prospective members an opportunity to visit, meet members and explore the facilities.
Membership options include a suggested monthly rate for regular attendance and a keyholder plan with 24/7 access, as well as pay-as-you-can membership for those who need it. Located at Portland Works, Sheffield Hackspace also shares projects and updates through its blog and wiki
