Sheffield Phoenix

Sheffield Phoenix Press is a renowned publisher specializing in biblical studies. Established in 2004, it was founded by esteemed scholars David J. A.

Clines, J. Cheryl Exum, and Keith W. Whitelam.

From 2018 to 2022, the press was under the leadership of David J. A. Clines and Jeremy M.

S. Clines. With a commitment to excellence, Sheffield Phoenix Press upholds the proud publishing traditions of Sheffield and focuses on producing high-quality academic books and journals.

As an independent company managed by academics for academics, Sheffield Phoenix Press strives to support scholarly research rather than maximize profits. Their catalog includes scholarly monographs, and they ensure that all their titles remain in print indefinitely. Additionally, the press offers a generous year-round 50% discount on all hardback books for individual scholars and students.

In recent years, Sheffield Phoenix Press has resumed accepting proposals for scholarly books and monographs in biblical studies. They also continue to publicize and market their extensive list of over 300 titles. Notably, they are currently involved in a significant project—the creation of the nine-volume Dictionary of Classical Hebrew Revised.

Under the current direction of Jeremy M. S. Clines and under the management of Louise A.

Clines, Sheffield Phoenix Press remains dedicated to providing scholars and researchers with valuable resources in the field of biblical studies
