Shelby Rebels

Shelby Rebels Football and Cheer is a youth sports organization serving children from Utica, Shelby Township, Sterling Heights, Romeo, Washington Township, and nearby communities. Its program combines tackle football and competitive cheer, emphasizing hard work, teamwork, and participation in the Rebel Nation. Football is open to ages 8 to 12, with Freshman and Junior Varsity teams organized by grade and weight under Northern Youth Football League rules.

Teams pursue postseason play and the opportunity to compete for the NYFL Championship. Cheer is available to students in kindergarten through sixth grade, with Mascot, Freshman, and JV squads. Cheerleaders support the teams at games and compete in Mini Cheer and Mega Cheer events during the season.

Both programs generally practice from 6 to 8 p. m., with schedules varying by season, weather, and game plans. The organization also provides families with registration guidance, forms, physical and waiver information, a handbook, field details, and frequently asked questions.

Its team store offers Rebels apparel and gear, while local sponsors help support the program
