Shelter Home for Children is a registered Christian welfare organization that has been providing support for abused, abandoned, neglected, or at-risk children since 1981. Regardless of their race or religion, the organization aims to offer a safe and nurturing environment to these vulnerable children. Shelter Home for Children started with a group of seven friends who initiated tuition classes to help improve the educational outcomes of children in a squatter settlement.

Over time, their dedication led to the establishment of a single-storey bungalow to accommodate homeless boys. As the number of children grew, Shelter Home for Children relocated to its current premises on Jalan Tinggi, Petaling Jaya. In addition to providing shelter and care, Shelter Home for Children established ten kindergartens in underprivileged areas to give children a strong educational foundation.

While these kindergartens have closed down, the organization adapted its approach to focus on positively influencing teenagers and helping delinquents reintegrate into society through community youth work. Shelter Home for Children also operates a youth community center called DropZone, where young people aged 13 to 20 can engage in constructive activities that contribute to their personal development. Additionally, Shelter Home for Children runs three homes—Shelter 1, Shelter 2, and Shelter 3—that cater to teenagers who are beyond parental control.
