Sherpa Fonds

Sherpa Fonds e.V. is a volunteer-run charitable association based in Saalfeld, Germany, dedicated to helping children in Nepal access education. The organisation supports talented children from families who cannot afford the costs of schooling, with a focus on education at private schools that offer state-recognised certificates and qualifications. Its scholarship recipients attend eight partner schools and colleges in Kathmandu.

Through its child sponsorship programme, Sherpa Fonds helps cover school fees and related needs, including uniforms, books and other learning materials; support may also include healthcare and social services. Sponsorship is available from €20 per month. The association generally contributes 80% of school fees, monitors students’ progress through school reports, and provides updates to sponsors. Funding is also used to bridge sponsorship costs while new sponsors are sought.

Sherpa Fonds welcomes sponsors and donations, which support children’s continued schooling and the association’s educational work. Contributions and sponsorship payments are recognised as charitable and may be tax-deductible.
