About She Writes Woman
She Writes Woman Mental Health Initiative is a brand that aims to revolutionize the way mental health is perceived and addressed in Nigeria. Founded by Hauwa Ojeifo, who survived a suicide attempt and was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD, the organization seeks to break the silence, challenge stigma, and empower individuals with mental health conditions. Recognizing the lack of awareness and accessibility to mental healthcare in Nigeria, She Writes Woman works towards creating a society where individuals with mental health conditions are treated with dignity and given the same rights as others.
Through their initiatives, the brand strives to improve the well-being of Nigerians by transforming the way they think, feel, and behave. She Writes Woman empowers individuals with lived experiences to share their stories, co-create solutions, and advocate for their own rights. They provide safe spaces for people to seek support without fear or judgment, and actively promote conversations around mental health to foster a more inclusive and understanding society.
