Sylmar Hang Gliding Association (SHGA) is a community organization serving hang gliding pilots at Sylmar Flight Park in Sylmar, California. Described on its website as the “world capital of hang gliding,” SHGA provides information and resources to support local flying and connect current, former, and prospective members. Its site offers weather updates and webcams, a site briefing, cross-country and bailout information, local waypoints, landing-zone details, and an emergency action plan. Pilots can also find information about rides, active members, club competitions, board meetings, news, and community forums.
SHGA offers membership enrollment and renewals, a member directory, and a marketplace, along with club merchandise and opportunities to donate. The association shares flight-park updates and practical guidance for visitors, including the park’s address and driving directions. Located at 12584 Gridley Street, the flight park is a place to visit or contact the organization with questions. SHGA’s resources help its community stay informed about site conditions, club activities, and the practical considerations of flying locally.
