Supporting Healthcare Heroes UK (SHH-UK) is a registered charity in England and Wales dedicated to supporting healthcare workers living with Long Covid. Its mission is to stand alongside the people who cared for others during the pandemic and help them navigate the personal and professional challenges of the condition.
SHH-UK offers free, confidential online peer support groups where healthcare workers can share experiences, exchange practical advice and connect with others who understand. The organisation also provides evidence-based information and resources on living with Long Covid, accessing financial help, workplace issues, preventing reinfection, research findings and stories from healthcare workers.
Beyond direct support, SHH-UK works to influence policy and practice around the needs of affected workers. Its #SafeAir4All campaign calls for improved indoor air quality in healthcare settings, while its resources and advocacy help raise awareness of Long Covid’s impact. The charity invites people to support its work through donations, fundraising, sharing information and contributing to its campaigns. It also publishes news, guest blogs and newsletters to keep its community informed.
