Shidokan Kendo Iaido

Shidokan Kendo and Iaido Club is a Montreal martial arts dojo operating at Concordia University’s Loyola Campus. Directed by Santoso Hanitijo Sensei, Robert Miller Sensei, and Dean Jolly, the club offers training in kendo, the Way of the Sword, and iaido, the art of drawing the sword. Its practice includes Muso Shinden Ryu and Seitei Iai, with an emphasis on disciplined technique, physical and mental development, courtesy, honor, sincerity, and continual self-improvement.

The club welcomes people seeking a serious path in martial arts and provides membership information, schedules, activities, and guidance for prospective students. Its website also shares educational material on the history and principles of kendo and iaido, samurai culture, equipment, and practical care, including instructions for preparing a shinai, maintaining an iaito, and folding or tying a hakama. Shidokan members participate in seminars, gradings, and local and national championships, while the club hosts events such as the Montreal Iaido Seminar
