Shim Mu

Shim Mu is a martial arts school in Boekel, the Netherlands, offering traditional Hanmudo and Hapkido training for adults aged 18 and over. Its approach emphasizes respect, discipline, classical technique, fitness, focus, and personal growth rather than aggressive street fighting or intense competition. The classes combine the complementary strengths of both Korean martial arts: Hapkido’s joint locks, throws, and dynamic kicks, and Hanmudo’s broader system, including weapons training and flowing, circular movements.

Students can develop self-defence skills and improve their technique through structured Hanmudo lessons, with individual coaching and seminars also available to support and refine their progress. Shim Mu was founded by Nick Windmeijer, who has trained for 20 years and taught for more than 10. He holds a sixth Dan in both Hanmudo and Hapkido and a second Dan in Taekwondo.

Training takes place on Tuesdays from 8 to 10 p. m. at Sporthal De Burcht in Boekel.
