About ShipFed
ShipFed, also known as the Shipping Federation of Canada, has been the voice of ocean shipping since 1903. This association represents and advocates for the interests of ship owners, operators, and agents involved in Canada's world trade. ShipFed's member companies are engaged in various sectors of the shipping industry, including dry bulk, liquid bulk, container, and cruise.
The Federation's primary activities revolve around providing advocacy for the ocean shipping industry, offering operational support to its members, disseminating information to members, governments, and the general public, and delivering training to members and other industry stakeholders. Their goal is to establish a safe, efficient, competitive, environmentally sustainable, and quality-oriented marine transportation system. A team of eight dedicated staff members oversees the day-to-day activities, while strategic directions and policy decisions are made by a Board of Directors consisting of senior executives from member companies.
ShipFed also has issue-driven Standing Committees, as well as District Committees in Newfoundland-Labrador, Nova Scotia, the Quebec North Shore, Ontario, and British Columbia, focusing on specific local issues and providing the Board with a regional perspective. Get involved with ShipFed and be part of shaping the future of Canada's shipping industry
