About SHIP TA Center
The SHIP National Technical Assistance Center is dedicated to helping the general public understand, locate, and access services provided by the State Health Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIPs) in their state, territory, or commonwealth. SHIPs are local programs that offer in-depth and objective insurance counseling for Medicare-eligible individuals, their families, and caregivers. If you or a loved one are considering making coverage changes during Medicare's Annual Election Period, SHIPs can provide one-on-one assistance in reviewing health or prescription drug plan options.
They can also help you navigate the complexities of Medicare's eligibility criteria and clarify what is covered and what is not. In addition, SHIPs can provide guidance on how Medicare works with supplemental policies, retiree coverage, Medicaid, and other insurers.
