**Shitamachi Bobsleigh Network Project**

Shitamachi Bobsleigh is a unique initiative aimed at showcasing the advanced manufacturing capabilities of small and medium-sized factories in Ota Ward, Tokyo, through the development of competitive bobsleds. This project emerged with the goal of creating a sled that embodies the skill and expertise of over 100 participating manufacturers, each contributing their knowledge in areas such as metal-cutting, welding, and aerodynamics. The partnership with the Jamaican Bobsleigh Federation, initiated in 2016, strives to elevate Jamaican athletes to the podium at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

Bobsleigh, often likened to "F1 on ice," requires both athletic prowess and high-performance sled design, strictly regulated by the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation. Shitamachi Bobsleigh is currently focused on developing two-person sleighs that meet these rigorous standards, embodying the spirit of collaboration and innovative manufacturing found in Ota Ward. By turning technical expertise into remarkable bobsleds, Shitamachi Bobsleigh is not only promoting local craftsmanship but also aiming for success on a global sporting stage.
