About Shivkhori
Shivkhori, often referred to as the home of Gods, is a revered cave shrine located in Ransoo village within the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is famous for its natural Shivling, attracting pilgrims seeking peace and blessings. The journey to the cave involves a scenic 3-4 km trek from the base camp, Ransoo, complete with safety railings and resting spots, making it accessible for families and elders.
The Shivkhori Shrine Board manages the site, ensuring a smooth pilgrimage experience with facilities like pony rides for transportation. Additionally, the annual three-day Mela during Maha Shivratri draws devotees from various regions, featuring prayers and bhajans. The cave, believed to extend towards the Swami Amar Nath cave in Kashmir, has mystical formations and natural images representing deities, including a prominent Shivling.
Shivkhori is also conveniently located for those wishing to combine their visit with the nearby Vaishno Devi shrine, enhancing its appeal as a spiritual destination
