Shootingstar Saddlery

Shooting Star Saddlery is a custom leatherworking business in Niarada, Montana, founded and operated by saddlemaker Jeff Morrow. Drawing on the region’s ranching and trail-riding traditions, Morrow creates handmade gear designed for practical use and long service by riders and their horses or mules. The workshop offers custom saddles, including Wade, slick-fork, ranch, mountain, historical-reproduction, lightweight, and trail designs. Customers can select features such as the fork, horn, cantle, seat, rigging, skirts, finish, and decorative carving. The saddles are made with U.S.-tanned leather, custom trees, and carefully finished edges, with attention to fit and durability.

Shooting Star Saddlery also makes chaps and chinks, cowboy gun leather, tack, belts, wallets, bags, and other gear. Its work includes distinctive floral patterns inspired by local wildflowers, as well as period and Sheridan-style designs. The business uses hand-selected leathers and welcomes special projects, including custom leather choices. It also offers saddle repairs when feasible and occasionally has antique chairs available for refinishing and leather covering.
