Shotocanada

ShotoCanada is an organization dedicated to teaching traditional Shotokan Karate in a modern setting. Its approach combines physical training and practical applications with the philosophical and spiritual study of karate, reflecting the way, or “do,” at the heart of its practice. Members bring a wide range of Shotokan backgrounds and knowledge shaped by the teachings of many masters. ShotoCanada draws on this shared experience to develop a dynamic, adaptable approach to the art and science of Shotokan.

The organization connects students with clubs in locations including CFB Esquimalt, Colwood, Nanaimo, Coquitlam, Yukon, and Revelstoke. Its website provides information about clubs, instructors, news, events, and resources for members. Members can access the organization’s syllabus through the members page, while ShotoCanada also offers branded merchandise for order. By bringing together varied perspectives while maintaining a focus on traditional practice, ShotoCanada supports karate study that addresses both the physical and reflective dimensions of the discipline.
