Shotokan-Koeln

Shotokan Karate Dojo Tsunami Köln is a karate school in Cologne’s Zollstock district, offering traditional Shotokan karate for adults and young people aged 10 and over. Training takes place at the Eichi youth center on Höninger Weg and welcomes beginners, returning students, and experienced karateka. No prior experience is required, and prospective students can attend a free trial session without registering in advance.

The dojo’s open training groups are organized around changing levels and themes rather than separate Kyu and Dan classes. Sessions progress from foundational instruction for beginners and returning students to training for lower, intermediate, and advanced grades. Core practice includes Kihon, Kata, and Kumite, with competition training available when appropriate. Higher grades and Dan holders are welcome to join from the start of the evening, while beginners may continue through the later session.

Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with training during school holidays arranged by consultation.
