Show de Química is a Brazilian science education project that makes chemistry engaging through demonstrations, hands-on activities, and creative learning. Founded in 1992 at PUC-Rio and registered as an extension project at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) in 1996, it has delivered more than 230 presentations at schools, universities, conferences, and other events. Its goal is to share scientific knowledge, connect classroom theory with practical experiments, and encourage curiosity and new ideas among students and teachers.
The project offers chemistry shows for school and event audiences, a children’s version for parties and celebrations, workshops for students and educators, and training on chemical handling, risks, and accident prevention. It also develops educational resources, including experiment kits and books. The kit contains 120 chemical compounds and supports around 250 experiments, while the Show de Química books feature experiments and accessible chemistry topics. Through performances, workshops, publications, and teacher training, Show de Química helps audiences explore science in an educational and entertaining way.
