Shukokai Karate Federation

The Shukokai Karate Federation (SKF) is a UK organisation dedicated to teaching Kimura Shukokai Karate. Established in 1980 by the late Shihan Eddie Daniels, a respected British karate pioneer and 9th Dan, the federation continues his legacy under Chief Instructor and Technical Director Sensei Solfrid Daniels, 7th Dan. Senior instructors include Sensei Clem Braithwaite and Sensei Keith Cockburn, both 8th Dan, alongside Sensei Audun Daniels and Sensei Paul Richards, both 7th Dan. SKF states that it is the UK’s only organisation teaching Kimura Shukokai Karate and is recognised by Kimura Shukokai International (KSI).

The federation provides karate instruction and training in kihon, kata and kumite through its dojos, supported by instructors and black belts. While sport is only one part of its work, SKF has produced national and international champions in both kata and kumite, in Shukokai and all-styles competition. Its activities include courses, gasshuku, championships and tournaments, with events such as the SKF Nationals and Kimura Cup.
