ShuMeiKan Združenie Aikido klubov Čo to znamená?

Shumeikan Slovakia is an association of independent Aikido clubs in Slovakia and a member of the international Eurasia Aikido Organization. Its name, Shu-Mei-Kan, is loosely translated as “a place of precise practice,” reflecting the organization’s emphasis on effective, accurately performed techniques. Its teaching follows the Aikido principles of Nobuyoshi Tamura and combines self-defence practice with attention to health, flexibility, and physical and mental fitness.
Training is offered through affiliated clubs for children, young people, and adults, including mature and senior practitioners. Drawing on experience and knowledge from yoga and physiotherapy, the organization aims to support members’ long-term wellbeing rather than short-term performance. Shumeikan Slovakia regularly organizes domestic training seminars and technical examinations, while members also attend international seminars abroad and can take examinations for internationally recognized Dan grades.
The quality of instruction is overseen by chief instructor Richard Kováč, a seventh-dan Aikido practitioner and first-class coach. For Shumeikan Slovakia, Aikido is not only a form of self-defence but also a way of life
