Shutō Kai is a karate dojo and karate club based in Dresden, Germany, serving people interested in learning and practising traditional Shotokan karate. Founded in late 2017 by Stefan Lebelt and Jürgen von Kallenberg, the dojo focuses on teaching, training and sharing karate in the tradition of Shihan Hideo Ochi. Its approach connects physical technique with personal development, guided by principles that include striving to improve one’s character, cultivating the mind, respecting etiquette and practising self-control.

Training explores the fundamentals of karate, including kime: the focused, decisive execution of a technique, whether a strike, kick or block. Members also learn sun-dome, the controlled stopping of techniques just before contact, helping reconcile strong technique with safe practice. The dojo’s website provides information about training times, instructors, events and club membership, alongside news, images and reports. Its activities include beginner courses and karate seminars, including training events in Dresden. Shutō Kai presents karate as a disciplined practice in which students develop technique and self-mastery through sustained effort.
