Sicher Gehalten

Sicher Gehalten is a baby-care and handling education service created by Anja Beha, a physiotherapist and certified pediatric Bobath therapist. Its courses help parents and other caregivers feel more confident caring for newborns by combining professional knowledge with families’ natural abilities. The main course covers how to recognize and respond to a baby’s signals, support early adjustment and motor development, and handle a newborn safely.

Participants practise lifting, putting down, carrying, changing, dressing and bathing a baby using special dolls designed to match a newborn’s size and weight. The course also addresses changing and bathing essentials, common minor concerns such as colic, teething and a runny nose, pacifier use, and prevention of sudden infant death. Sicher Gehalten offers a sibling course for children aged three to six, helping them understand what to expect when a new baby arrives and how they can help.

Private courses are available at home, including post-birth handling guidance
