About Sidney
Welcome to the Town of Sidney! We offer a wide range of services and amenities, including parks, recreational activities, event bookings, as well as opportunities for public art and volunteerism. Our services also encompass utilities, parking, road maintenance, and emergency services such as fire safety and emergency planning. Additionally, we provide resources for business owners, including licensing and development permits, as well as climate action and sustainability initiatives.
One of the essential services we provide is garbage and recycling collection, in partnership with Emterra Environmental and the Capital Regional District. Please be advised that the collection schedule for garbage, kitchen organics, yard waste, and recycling is changing in 2024, so make sure to familiarize yourself with the new schedule. Furthermore, the curbside glass collection will be temporarily paused, but residents can bring their glass items to a nearby recycling depot.
