The Sidney Museum and Arts Association is a nonprofit, member-driven organization founded in 1970 to preserve local history and promote local and regional artists and appreciation of the fine arts. Operated entirely by volunteers, the 501(c)(3) organization maintains three Port Orchard, Washington, destinations: the Sidney Art Gallery, the Sidney Museum, and the Log Cabin Museum. Admission is free, and donations are welcomed to help cover maintenance.
The Sidney Art Gallery presents monthly exhibitions featuring Northwest artists, from emerging creators to established talent. Visitors can also find original paintings, prints, pottery, sculpture, wood and metal work, blown glass, jewelry, and other creative gifts. The organization hosts art exhibitions and receptions, creative gatherings, reading meetups, local history talks, and folk music events, while also sharing information about upcoming classes.
Located above the gallery, the Sidney Museum displays historic Port Orchard photographs and recreated settings, including a general store, school, doctor’s office, and hardware store. The nearby Log Cabin Museum features changing exhibits about home life in South Kitsap over the past century.
