Sidus Vitae

Sidus Vitae is a registered Ukrainian nonprofit organization working to advance military and emergency medicine in Ukraine and share lessons learned with the wider world. In partnership with other organizations, it provides medical equipment and training for Ukraine’s armed forces and civilian medical institutions. Its instruction covers tactical combat casualty care, field blood transfusion, damage-control resuscitation and REBOA, a technique used in cases of hemorrhagic shock.

The organization also works directly with military units to identify and address gaps in casualty evacuation, including blood supplies. Its projects include Pekelni Vydry, a tactical medicine instructor community that teaches TCCC courses to Ukraine’s defense forces; Farma, a volunteer initiative developing kits for donor-to-recipient whole-blood transfusions when stored cold blood is unavailable; and Ptakh Nadii, which aims to deliver blood, blood products and medical equipment rapidly to high-risk areas. Sidus Vitae welcomes donations, partnerships, volunteering and other forms of support. Contributions help fund equipment, training, transport, supplies, transfusion-kit assembly and administrative costs, supporting its work to strengthen emergency medical care.
