Welcome to Japanmuseum SieboldHuis in Leiden! Our museum showcases the best of Japan behind a historical Dutch facade. Named after Philipp Franz von Siebold, a renowned German physician and collector, who resided in this house from 1832 to 1845, our museum offers a fascinating insight into Japanese culture. We have a diverse range of exhibitions, both temporary and permanent.

Our current exhibitions include Japanese Fables by the Gebroeders Miedema, which explores the world of Japanese stories through the art of the Miedema brothers. We also have Siebold's Dreams, an exhibition inspired by Philipp Franz von Siebold and his extensive collection, created by the artist duo Marta Volkova and Slava Shevelenko. In addition to exhibitions, we offer various activities, including workshops such as the Stempelworkshop Tomikohan.
