Sierra Mountain Center

Sierra Mountain Center is a locally based mountain guiding service founded in 1996 and serving the Eastern Sierra Nevada. The company is the region’s only American Mountain Guides Association-accredited guide service, with guides certified for the activities they lead. Sierra Mountain Center organizes guided adventures in iconic destinations including Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks. Offerings span backpacking and hiking, rock climbing, alpine climbing, mountaineering, skiing, and splitboarding, as well as trips to Mount Whitney and other California 14,000-foot peaks. The company also provides avalanche education, mountaineering courses, wilderness first responder courses, mule-supported trips, women’s trips, and custom or private guiding.
