Silence to Signals™

Silence to Signals™ is an educational brand offering guidance and resources for parents of non-speaking and minimally speaking autistic children. Its core program, the Silence to Signals Communication Framework, helps caregivers recognize, interpret, and respond to a child’s communication, including nonverbal, behavioral, and emerging signals. The course is taught by Dr. Catherine C. Acotto, PhD, CCC-SLP, a speech-language pathologist with 26 years of experience and more than 50,000 clinical hours working with autistic children.

The program includes six modules and 24 lessons organized around the SIGNAL Path: seeing signals, interpreting behavior, building connection, supporting symbols and AAC, anticipating breakdowns, and expanding communication across settings. Course resources include tools for classifying signals, understanding regulation, supporting synchrony, and responding to communication breakdowns. Enrollment also provides access to a parent community, monthly live question-and-answer sessions with Dr. Acotto, and the Signal Translator AI, which draws on her knowledge base. The brand also offers a Signal Fluency Assessment, a blog, a FAQ, and parent-focused articles on communication, meltdowns, and transitions.
