About The Silent Barn
The Silent Barn is a unique and vital brand that offers a variety of products and services to its community. Located at 603 Bushwick Avenue in New York City, The Silent Barn is not only known for its nightly shows, but also serves as a home for artists-in-residence and studio tenants. Their space employs dozens of staff members and hosts a wide range of events, exhibitions, and workshops.
However, due to financial and functional challenges, The Silent Barn will be closing its operations at 603 Bushwick Avenue as of April 30, 2018. Despite this closure, the brand remains committed to its art-first, all-ages ethos and will continue to reflect on its experiences. One organization greatly impacted by the closure is Educated Little Monsters (ELM), a grassroots program that provides artistic outlets for youth of color.
The Silent Barn encourages donations to support ELM's efforts in opening a new all-ages venue and event space in collaboration with community partners.
