Silicon Forest Karate Club

Silicon Forest Karate Club is a traditional Shotokan karate club founded in 1995 to give Intel employees the opportunity to train in karate. The dojo brings together practitioners in a welcoming, supportive community, with instruction for people at different skill levels. Chief Instructor Gyuszi Suto, a fifth-degree black belt, leads the club alongside experienced black belt instructors Todd Owen, Milind Pandit, Jayapratap Bharathan, Zhang Lynn, and Jimmy Liu.

Each of these instructors has more than a decade of training, and together they offer personalized guidance in technique and practice. Members train together three to five times a week, developing discipline, karate skills, and camaraderie. The club’s website provides information on training times, exams, the dojo, its instructors, and a Shotokan library, as well as a gallery and members-only area.

Karate training also offers a vigorous workout; the club notes that an hour of karate can burn up to 600 calories. Through regular practice and experienced instruction, Silicon Forest Karate Club supports its members in learning and continuing traditional Shotokan karate
