Silver Star Society

Silver Star Maternity Fund is a charitable fund supporting maternity and newborn care in Oxfordshire. As part of Oxford Hospitals Charity, it raises money to help improve care for mothers, pregnant people and their babies, particularly through support for Oxford’s maternity services and the Silver Star Unit. Its funding has provided specialist equipment, including a scanner for closer ultrasound monitoring of high-risk pregnancies, hospital-grade breast pumps to support breastfeeding, and a CTG machine for monitoring babies.

The fund also supports practical improvements and initiatives within hospital services, such as facilities for staff and community midwives. Its work is sustained by donations, membership, appeals and community fundraising. Supporters can take part in events, organise their own activities, contribute to fundraising campaigns or donate in memory of someone. The fund shares news, stories from families and supporters, and updates through its website and newsletters. It also offers items through its shop. Through these activities, Silver Star Maternity Fund helps provide resources and support for maternity care across Oxfordshire.
